At X-VPN, we spend a lot of time thinking about privacy from a technical point of view: how to protect a connection, how much data a service really needs, and how to give users more control over their online activity.
But technology is only one part of privacy protection. People also need clear rights over their personal data, and those rights need to be enforced.
That’s why X-VPN is glad to support NOYB (European Center for Digital Rights), a nonprofit organization working to protect data privacy rights in Europe.
NOYB is a Vienna-based nonprofit focused on enforcing European data protection law.
A large part of its work involves filing complaints with data protection authorities and using strategic litigation to challenge privacy violations. It also works to raise public awareness around data protection and helps people better understand and exercise their rights under laws such as the GDPR.
What stands out to us is that NOYB focuses on enforcement. Privacy laws give people important rights, but those rights matter most when people can actually use them.
Privacy is the reason people come to products like X-VPN in the first place.
A VPN can help protect a user’s connection and reduce the amount of online activity exposed to others. But many privacy issues happen outside the VPN itself: how companies collect personal data, what they do with it, and whether users have a real way to challenge misuse.
That is where organizations such as NOYB play a different role.
By supporting NOYB, we hope to contribute to its independent work on data protection and privacy rights.
Our support for NOYB follows the same thinking behind our support for organizations such as the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the Internet Society: there are people and organizations working on privacy and an open Internet from very different angles, and we are happy to support that work where we can.
Supporting privacy organizations does not change the work we need to do ourselves.
X-VPN can be used without creating an account on supported platforms, and when users choose to register or subscribe, we process only the minimum account and billing information needed to provide the service.
Our no-logs policy also states that we do not sell, track, or disclose VPN traffic data, including user or destination IP addresses, browsing activity, websites visited, VPN server information, DNS queries, downloaded content, or connection timestamps. In June 2026, X-VPN completed an independent audit conducted by one of the Big Four accounting firms. The assessment covered statements in our no-logs policy.
We have also appointed representatives in both the European Union and the United Kingdom in accordance with Article 27 of the GDPR and UK GDPR.
These are separate from our support for NOYB. But we think the two should go together: if we support stronger privacy protections publicly, we should also keep examining how privacy is handled inside our own service.
Privacy rules, technology, and the ways companies use personal data will continue to change.
What should not change is the basic idea that people deserve control over their own information.
We’re glad to support NOYB and the work it does to defend that right. At X-VPN, we’ll keep working on our side as well: collecting less data, being more transparent about our practices, and building privacy protections into the service itself.
